Chapter EventsThe Palmetto Chapter, founded in 2015, has over 200 members - and we welcome more WVU alumni and friends to join us.
We are an active chapter, with regular football and basketball game watches on Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, including a free Football Tailgate party in the fall and a free Basketball Blast in the winter with giveaways, raffles and more. Other regular activities include a Salty Dog Sunset Cruise at Sea Pines South Beach Marina, Cooking Classes, Savannah Bananas Game, Bus Trips to nearby locations, special events related to WVU officials' visits, student recruitment activities - and more. Community activities have included a supply drive for our Beaufort County schools, a children's book drive for a local library and numerous fund raisers for local charities like Bluffton Self Help, Memory Matters and others. The Chapter also supports a modest scholarship for a South Carolina student who chooses to attend WVU. The Rodney M. Phillips Palmetto Chapter Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of one of the founding members of the Chapter. |
